Young people from 64 countries to visit Stuttgart – 2006 UNESCO World Youth Festival Stuttgart

"A time to make friends" is the official slogan of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ in Germany. For young people from all corners of the globe in particular, this motto will become reality in the World Cup city of Stuttgart. From 3nd-10th July 2006 the youth of the world will meet in Stuttgart: over 2000 young people from 64 countries will be coming to the state capital as guests of the unique UNESCO World Youth Festival. The festival's participants from all five continents can look forward to an exciting and varied programme of supporting events with a host of artistic and multicultural highlights in the fields of sport, culture and leisure.

During the four weeks of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, Stuttgart and its attractive and exciting region will welcome visitors from all over the world who will be coming to match the matches live in the Gottlieb Daimler Stadium or to enjoy the public viewing followed by the football parties on the Palace Square. During the day, however, there will also be plenty of time to take advantage of the top-class programme of supporting events in Baden-Württemberg's state capital or to explore the surrounding region. The area around Stuttgart offers a tempting combination of varied and delightful scenery and a host of places of historic interest.

The Tourist Information Centre „i-Punkt“, ( Königstr. 1A,) is situated opposite the main railway station and is the No. 1 address for the people of Stuttgart and international guests.
